The best workout wear for heading back to the gym

Capacity limits are looking like a thing of the past, and with the pandemic hopefully winding down and the cold November rains around the corner, more and more people will be returning to the gym en masse. But, it might have been a while for many. And, those old gym togs might have taken on a life of their own at the bottom of the closet. To that end, here are our top back-to-the-gym items for fall 2021.

UA Iso-Chill Perforated Sleeveless Shirt, $52.99

This workout shirt is made of Under Armour’s Iso-Chill fabric, and we like it. It feels great, and it’s also fantastic at wicking away the sweat. It’s got a free-cut edge and dropped, side-vent hem to add to the superior feel and ventilation. Ideal for those long workouts.

Lululemon Surge Lined Shorts, $68

These shorts from Lululemon could be the best gym shorts on the planet. They do come with a variety of in-seam lengths, although the four-inch option seems ideal for workouts, especially exercises with a lot of bending and crouching such as squats. They are very light and have a relaxed fit with a compression liner underneath. Tired of the gym, they double as fantastic running shorts.

Under Armour Curry Flow 8, $200

This is one beautiful sneaker. The eighth rendition of this basketball shoe is almost too pretty to take onto the hardcourt. It is also incredibly comfortable, and light, making it a great option for the gym or strolling about town as well. The breathable, flat night upper keeps the old dogs cool in even the most high-paced game or session. The bootie provides a sock-like feel and the collar has plenty of stretch. The cushioning gives life to tired legs.

Lolé Mile End High-Waisted Leggings, $109 and Sports Bra,

These very high-waisted leggings are ideal for medium-intensity workouts at the gym, or yoga studio. They are pretty sweet for cycling, too. Made by Canadian company Lolé. The raw edges around the waistband and bottom hem are designed to minimize irritation on the skin, which makes them ideal for working out. The Mile End sports bra offers medium support and again the raw edge on the bottom on the bottom band minimizes irritation when exercising. The criss-cross backing is stylish and fun.

Nike Therma Training Hoodie, $74

A nice workout layer for outdoor warm-ups or to throw on after the gym, this Nike Therma hoodie offers soft thermal fabric, but is also lightweight and has an adjustable hood. We love that it’s made of 50 percent recycled material.
