Event Calendar
The good news about the end of a long weekend (yes, there is some) is the short 4-day week ahead! We hope you all had a fantastic holiday and that you managed to Get Out There and play in Canada’s great outdoors. The GOT headquarters stayed open this weekend, with the team working hard putting the finishing touches on our September/October issue and getting ready for the launch of the new and improved GetOutThereMag.com.

On another note, if you like the news you receive in the Get Out There Reports every two weeks, you might also like to join us on Twitter (GetOutThere) and Facebook (Get Out There Magazine) where we post new, exciting and relevant news and updates on a daily basis. Last week our Facebook page included a video of some of the Tour de France’s best crashes, pictures of some of our favourite new gear for fall and a sneak peek at our new website. www.facebook.com

Join us on Twitter to take part in active discussions and let us know what you’re doing out there! It’s a great way to connect directly with the Get Out There team to let us know how we’re doing and find out about great promotions, upcoming articles and more! www.twitter.com
Gear
Long gone are the days when lululemon was strictly a yoga/lifestyle brand. Lulu has started making major strides in technical running wear and the proof, as they say, is in the pudding. We absolutely love lulu’s new Trail LS Tech Top (available fall 09). At $68 it’s on par with other tech tops and features a stylish shawl collar, thumbholes, music pocket and chafe resistant flat seams. The best part is the luxtreme fabric, which aside from wicking, is soft as a baby’s butt. www.lululemon.com

Nutrition
This week we’re sharing the GOT staff’s favourite breakfast smoothie recipe. You can mix it up by adding your favourite green drink mix or protein powder for a post-workout treat. Pair it with a slice or two of whole grain toast with peanut butter and you’re good to go ‘till lunch. Makes 1 very large glass.

Blend:
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 banana
1 cup frozen berries or fresh fruit (we like strawberries and blueberries, but fresh peaches are great this time of year)
