On Saturday, February 4th, 2012 NordicFest, Ontario’s cross country ski and snowshoe festival returns to Scenic Caves Nordic Centre in the Town of Blue Mountains!

Join hundreds of outdoor enthusiasts, weekend warriors, beginner and expert skiers and snowshoers alike, families and the entire Get Out There Magazine team for a fun – and inexpensive - day on the trails. Test the latest skis and snowshoes from major manufacturers, participate in fun activities like our snowman making contest, enjoy free hot chocolate and apple cider all day in our warm-up chalet and enjoy the spectacular escarpment trails at one of Ontario’s premiere Nordic destinations!

Planning on attending NordicFest this year? Why not make it a weekend? Enjoy the nightlife at Blue Mountain and on Sunday go downhill skiing or check out the Scandinave Spa! Bringing the kids? The Plunge Aquatic Centre will be a big hit!

Trail passes at NordicFest are $12 (regularly $18.50) and are available on-site the day of NordicFest.

NEW THIS YEAR: THE YETI SNOWSHOE RACE COMES TO NORDICFEST

 

We've got a HUGE announcement! Aside from being super pumped about

NordicFest 2012, we're even more excited to announce that NordicFest

will play host to Ontario's first Yeti Snowshoe Race!

It’s official. Western Canada’s premier snowshoe racing series is coming to

Ontario – and to NordicFest. Get Out There Magazine’s annual NordicFest

Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Festival at Scenic Caves in the Town of

Blue Mountains will play host to the first ever Yeti in Ontario!

In addition to coming out to enjoy an easy day of cross country skiing or snowshoeing

on Scenic Caves’ spectacular escarpment trails, those interested in a little

more competitive action will now have the chance to race “Yeti-style”! Racers

can choose between a 5-6K short course or the longer 10K enduro route, and

can elect to race for the podium or the accomplishment of crossing the finish line.

Don’t have your own snowshoes? Fear not – rentals are available. If you’re
