Run single-track trails through old growth forest an alongside Goldstream River before ascending the stunning coastal mountain range trails in Gowlland Tod Provincial Park at the Finlayson Arm 50K trail race. Runners for both the 28 km and 50 km distance are treated with incredible 360-degree views of Vancouver Island for almost half of this fun and friendly trail race.
Golden Ultra (Golden, BC)
When: September 23-25, 2016
Runners of this three-day stage trail race are rewarded with stunning fall scenery and picturesque mountain views as they traverse single-track trails to the summit of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. There are six distances to choose from over the three days, which participants can choose to run solo or as part of a relay team.
Squamish 50 (Squamish, BC)
When: August 20-21, 2016
Run challenging yet spectacular single-track trails amongst towering Western Red Cedars and climb 11,000 feet for sweeping vistas of glaciated snow-capped peaks during the Squamish 50. There are a variety of events and race distances over the weekend, including a 23 km trail race and a 50/50 option where extreme athletes can run the 50 mile and 50 km events on back-to-back days.
Sinister 7 (Crowsnest Pass, AB)
When: July 9-10, 2016
This seven-leg ultramarathon through the Rocky Mountains combines some of the best (and most challenging) trails in the area with lots of incredible vistas along the way. With 5,687 m of elevation gain across the 161 km of rugged terrain that makes up the course, Sinister 7 is not for the weak of heart. If you’re not up for the full distance solo, a relay option is available.
The North Face Endurance Challenge (Blue Mountain Resort, ON)
When: July 18-19, 2016
Put your endurance fitness to the test as you cruise along the Niagara Escarpment on the western shores of the Georgian Bay and navigate through the pristine ski trails of the Blue Mountains at the North Face Endurance Challenge trail race. Choose to run the marathon distance solo or on a relay team; the 50 km distance if you’re more experienced; or the 50 mile distance if you’re looking for even more of a challenge.
Ultra-Trail Harricana (La Malbaie, QC)
When: September 9-10, 2016
Experience in Canada’s beautiful but wild backcountry at the Ultra-Trail Harricana in the Charlevoix region of Québec. There are a variety of distances available over the weekend, from a beginner-friendly 10 km trail race to a 125 km endurance challenge on technical trails in the mountains.
