The Opus Spring Epic 8 Hour Relay is upon us once again in its 12th season of fun filled action at the Mansfield Outdoor Centre on Saturday, May 26th. The race is a very unique mountain biking experience that brings everyone together in a festival environment. The Mansfield Outdoor Centre, just under a 2 hours drive north of Toronto, has also been the venue for this and previous years MTB-XC O-Cup #2 event. The setting offers a beautiful cottage landscape that offers some great trails for mountain biking.

As the name of the race suggests, the Spring Epic 8 Hour Relay takes place over a time span of 8 hours on a 10km loop course. The aim is not to be the first to cross the finish line, but to be first rider/team to complete the most number of laps in 8 hours. You can enter into this race as a solo rider or in teams of up to 6 riders. If you are in teams, only one team member is allowed to ride the course at any one time. The course was designed for expert and first-time racers that features singletrack, doubletrack, some challenging hill climbs, and a few technical sections. The event will also feature a fun and non-competitive Kids’ Race for kids under the age of 12. The ride will challenge the kids to complete as many laps of the course within a 15 minute time limit, and only costs $10 to enter. A free t-shirt will be given to those who have pre-register.
