Ski to Sea will host a barbeque for the volunteers of this year’s race in order to say “Thank You” for all of their hard work.

Bellingham, WA – Whatcom Events: Home of Ski to Sea will be hosting a barbeque for all of the volunteers who participate in this year’s race. The event will take place on Tuesday May 22nd, from 5:30pm until 7:30pm at the Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Park.

This event will include a free meal and a free official 2012 Ski to Sea Beer Glass for the first 100 volunteers to register and show.

The Ski to Sea race has over 500 volunteers each year that come out and give up their time in order to help the race. This event will be a “thank you” to all who dedicate their time and effort to the race.

Race Director Pete Coy said, “The Ski to Sea race wouldn’t be anywhere without the hard working volunteers that give up their time to support the race. We wanted to take the time out of our busy schedules to give a big ‘thank you!’ to the community because of all of their hard work and dedication to this Whatcom County tradition.”

Those that wish to participate must either be volunteers or be interested in signing up to volunteer and will register at the BBQ. Volunteers must also register online if they wish to participate. They can do so at the SkitoSea.com website by clicking on the “Volunteer Appreciation BBQ” link under the “Events” tab.
