Metro Vancouver and the Trans Canada Trail Society are teaming up to celebrate International Trails Day, on Sunday June 3rd 2012 and invite you to join in! This fun-filled, non-competitive event encourages people to get outdoors, be active and experience the beautiful parks and greenways across the region. The event also marks the 20th anniversary of the Trans Canada Trail, the start of “Bike Month” and will highlight the “Experience the Fraser” project, a concept for a recreational and cultural corridor from Hope to the Salish Sea.

Participants are challenged to complete one of several route options by walking, hiking, cycling, or riding on horseback. Special routes for rollerblading and for wheelchairs will also be available. Destinations and waypoints will lead participants through five regional parks, and greenways operated by Metro Vancouver. The routes include municipal parks and recreational pathways operated by the City of Port Coquitlam, City of Coquitlam, City of Surrey, Township of Langley, City of Pitt Meadows and the District of Maple Ridge.
